A Psalm for Today: Psalms 9:10

And those who know Your name will put their trust in You; For You, Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You. Psalms 9:10

The word know here is the word "yada" and it suggests intimacy. It is not just knowing there is a God or knowing about God but knowing God personally and intimately. The names of God represent His character and nature. For example, if we say "Jehovah Shammah", we are declaring that he is present. If we know His name we can safely trust in His character. Jesus Christ is the summation of all of the names of God. He is the fullness of the Godhead bodily When we place our trust in Him we will never be forsaken. Those who seek for Him with their whole heart will be found by Him. He has promised that He will never leave nor forsake us and we know this is true because he cannot deny Himself. He cannot violate His character.
