"My defense is of God, which saveth the upright in heart." Psalms 7:10
David's words in Psalms 7 appear to be a response to the threats of Cush the Benjamite. If you read the entire Psalm you see that David proclaims that God will judge his enemies. We see in Psalm 34 and Psalms 91 David talking about the protection of the Lord. I believe we are under the protection of the Lord, but there are things that happen to Christians that we do not understand. This physical life is but a vapor. If we view things from a temporal perspective there are things for which we do not have answers. This I do know, we have one who is an intercessor who forever makes intercession on our behalf. He bears the marks which purchased our liberty. He is our advocate and when the accuser of the brethren brings accusation before the Father, He stands in our defense. We who have received the finished work of Christ by faith are the upright in heart. The time will come when the wicked will reap what they have sown. Until that time I can say with David the Lord is my defense.
