A Psalm for Today: Psalms 42:1,2 As the deer pants for the water brooks, so pants my soul for You, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shal I come and appear before God?
God is looking for those who will seek Him with their whole heart. He will be found by those who seek Him with all that they are. One of the keys to revival is a deperate people praying desperately. Hunger is one of the things that is missing in today's church. Too many have been drinking from the world's fountain and are sated and complacent. The picture here is of a deer that that has been running and is frantically searching for water. God must become to us as water to a man who is thirsting to death or food to a starving man. We must have Him. In the verse "Seek and you shall find", the verb there is present imperative which means to seek and keep on seeking. When He becomes our determination, He will become Your destination. "Blessed are they who hunger and thirst after righteousness for they shall be filled." Matt. 5:6
