A Psalm for Today

A Psalm for Today: Psalms 45:6,7
Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; a scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom. You love righteousness and hate wickedness; thereforeGod, Your God, has anointed You with the oil of gladness more than Your companions.

These verses reference Christ and can be seen again in Hebrews 1:8,9. For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. 2 Cor. 5:21 Jesus became sin that the body of sin might be destroyed. As we receive His finished work by faith His righteousness is imputed to us. We are told in Matthew 6:33 to seek first the kingdom and His righteousness. As you seek the king's reign in Your life, you also find the king's righteousness. His kingdom is established in righteousness. For the kingdom of God is righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit. Jesus endured the shame of the cross for the joy that was set before Him. Part of this joy was the great inheritance which included you and me.
