A Psalm for Today: Psalms 50:10,12

A Psalm for Today: Psalms 50:10,12
For every beast of the forest is Mine, and the cattle on a thousand hills. If I were hungry, I would not tell you; for all the world is Mine, and all its fullness.

God does not ask us to give because he needs any thing; He asks because He is a giver. In Christ, He has freely given us all things. We are called to give because we are being conformed to His image. Our giving is testimony to the fact that He owns it all. Giving is an act of faith, just like a farmer sowing his seed. He who sows sparingly shall reap sparingly. The coffers of heaven are not affected by our giving or the lack thereof. They are not impacted by the world's economy. When Corrie Ten Boom's story, "The Hiding Place", was being filmed. the producer called her and told her that they needed ten thousand dollars ( if memory serves me correctly) to continue filming. She quoted verse 10 to the director and after hanging up the phone she received a donation from a cattle farmer who had sold some of his cattle. The donation was the exact amount they needed to complete filming. God owns it all and in Christ we have become joint heirs with Him. How awesome and amazing is the grace of our God!
